Disney’s Fastpass

Cut your line time in half!

The bad news:

Lines at Walt Disney World are too long

The good news:

Disney’s new Fastpass allows you to bypass lines!

How it works

  1. Swipe your theme–park admission ticket through the Fastpass turnstile at the Fastpass ride.
  2. You will receive a Fastpass ticket imprinted with a designated ride time, with an hour “window” in which to return.
  3. When your “appointment” to ride the attraction comes due, go back to the attraction and head for the line marked “Fastpass”. Show your Fastpass ticket to the Cast Member. You will then be directed to a different line, where your wait will be considerably less than the regular line.

What’s the catch?

It used to be that you could only have one Fastpass active for one attraction at a time; however, Disney has just changed the rules!

Now, if you wait two hours after getting a Fastpass ticket, you can now get another one for a different attraction — even if your first Fastpass time hasn’t rolled around yet.

For example, if your pass were issued at 1:00 PM, you can get another ticket for a different attraction at 3:00 PM, OR after your first Fastpass ticket time expires — whichever comes first.

One catch is that not all attractions use the Fastpass system. This system is reserved for the “E–Ticket” rides… the best of the best, so to speak. Attractions like It’s A Small World, or The American Adventure do not currently use Fastpass.
